Drifter of the Open Plain
Yuha Landsfang
Drifter of the Open Plain
Yuha was born a nomad of the western reaches of Xak Tural, to the Hhetsarro there who once followed the esuuyan hhetso, and listened to the water, not the wind. That peace all ended one fateful sun, and so now Yuha wanders, hunting for a price rather than a purpose: a viper of the Dawn Hunt; one known in Shaaloani as the rider of a mighty Lunyucaua'pya and a tamer of its kind. Not one for words, she prefers action—the silence of the open plain her closest companion.

Character Hooks
Yuha travels widely across both Xak and Yok Tural to hunt, and has ventured beyond to the high seas and Eorzea once before in her turns. Below are potential hooks for initial scenes, and I love to collaborate or improvise, too. Always feel free to walk up and shoot first—it’s always welcome, and there’s no time like the present.
A Viper of Shaaloani

As one of the vipers of the Dawn Hunt that aims to protect the people of Shaaloani from the tural vidraal, Yuha has built a reputation for quiet, steadfast reliability. She’s known foremost for her riding skill: running down, harrying and baiting marks astride her loyal steed, Haakwal.
↠ A fellow viper? Seeking protection from a tural vidraal? Revenge? Traveling through one of Shaaloani’s settlements? Yuha can often be found in Sheshenewezi Springs and Hhusatahwi, conferring with other hunters.
The Beastmaster

Yuha earns her keep by both hunting and slaying—but also capturing and training—wild beasts and monsters. She’s known to charge very little for these services, and her expertise lies in the wrangling and taming of the Lunyucaua’pya, a monster known in the east as the Tyrannosaur.
↠ In search of a hunting partner? Wrangler? Supplier? Tracker? In Shaaloani and beyond, she’s keen to help, and not solely for the coin.
Friend of the Rroneek

The Hhetsarro of the rroneek hhetso who travel through Mehwahhetsoan call Yuha a friend, and she’s often seen in their camp, or sharing their catches at Lake Toari. With that closeness and tacit trust comes an eagerness to help anyone who calls Lake Toari or Mehwahhetsoan home.
↠ Work that would benefit other Hhetsarro nomads—especially followers of the rroneek hhetso—draw Yuha in without fail. She’ll never hesitate to lend a hand or call on them.

Xak Turali
A Glossary of In-Game Words
A list of known words from each of the canon languages of Xak Tural has been compiled here for use as a reference. The compilation of this list represents an ongoing effort, by no means exhaustive, and will be periodically updated.
Shetona
The Shetona of Shaaloani and Yyasulani perhaps originally inhabited these regions of Xak Tural, as their language features the most prominently in location and monster names.

Tonawawta
The Tonawawta of Xak Tural encountered in the story appear not to be a cultural monolith, and Tonawawta seem to make up at least part of the Whalaqee people of northwestern Xak Tural. Therefore, linguistically they may eventually prove more linguistically diverse than we currently realize. For now, the below words are known to be of Tonawawtan origin.

The Hhetsarro of Xak Tural appear to live nomadically, and therefore their language may not prove consistent between every family. Listed below are the known translations of Hhetsarro words seen in and around the Shaaloani region.
